Our facilities include equipment for:

  • Mixing of powders, thermoplastics and resins:
  • Forming processes for thermoplastics, elastomers, rubber compounds and resins, such as lab-scale filament extrusion and injection moulding, vacuum bag hand lay-up of composite laminates, hot press, and electrospinning equipment;
  • Coating manufacturing, such as dip coating, and electro- and electroless-plating;
  • Thermal treatment, with muffle and tube furnaces, and a biological incubator;
  • Additive manufacturing of thermoplastics and resins.

Cold-plasma surface treatment

Handheld plasma gun producing cold (<50°C) active plasma at atmospheric pressure for the surface treatment of materials. The plasma treatment is able to modify the surface energy of materials to improve wettability (see photo), promote adhesion of coatings and adhesives, optimize bonding and printing processes, and functionalize surfaces.
