The aim of this project is to develop an innovative concept of construction which joins sustainability and digitalization.
The new “sustainable smart building” will integrate several innovative solutions of sustainable design (based on a multidisciplinary digital twin) with self-healing and self-monitoring concrete. This project will investigate new types of advanced and smart concrete mixes that can sense the environment and the health status of the material. Novel material formulations will be analysed and tested according to lab-scale specimens to gather data for a digital twin based on a multidisciplinary optimization algorithm based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and, in particular, Machine Learning (ML) tools.
