Vieni a trovarci al nostro stand (E.02, padiglione E) dove esporremo il nostro lavoro su Strutture dispiegabili a memoria di forma.
Il progetto presenta un uso creativo della stampa 3D per la realizzazione di un componente realizzato in PEEK e in materiale composito a matrice polimerica multifunzionale (ovvero in grado di offrire più funzioni contemporaneamente). Tale componente smart prototipale è in grado di integrarsi in un cinematismo semplice di apertura di un sistema portante antenne e/o pannelli solari, che avviene attraverso l’attivazione da stimolo elettromagnetico. Il prototipo è un esempio di come si possa realizzare strutture multi-materiali leggere, multifunzionali e sostenibili. Il materiale multifunzionale stampato con specifico design, infatti, è in grado di svolgere da solo la funzione di cerniera, sensore ed attuatore.

The Material Science and Technology group is joining Maker Faire Rome 2022 at Gazometro on 7-8-9 October 2022!
Come visit us at our stand (E.02, pavillon E) where we’ll display our work on Shape memory deployable structures.
The project presents an application of 3D printing for the manufacturing of a component made of PEEK and a polymer-matrix multifunctional (namely which is capable of offering more than one function at the same time) composite material. The smart prototype component integrates the structural function with an opening and deployment mechanism for antennas and/or solar panels, which is activated by an electromagnetic stimulus. The prototype is an example of a multi-material, lightweight, multifunctional and sustainable structure, which carries out the function of linkage, sensor and actuator on its own.
